In 2012, sick of the way the punk scene was being diluted, misrepresented, and slowly turned into a way for hipsters to feel edgy and dangerous, Bryce and Mike who previously played together in the Vancouver hardcore/thrash band Thought Crime, needed to start a band that would abandon all the bullshit and take hardcore punk back to its roots.

Luckily they soon found Dave, a man who regularly destroys drum sets for fun. He clearly shared their fury and passion for playing, and brought a new level of power and attack to the songs.

Car 87 has recently added long time Vancouver punk veteran Aaron Foster who has brought the final piece to the Car 87 aural assault.

Car 87 has been lucky enough to play with many of their classic hardcore heros and play shows around the Canada, the US and Japan and have released a full length album "No Hope" as well as multiple 7 inch records.

Even though they have been belting out their own brand of classic hardcore for years, it still feels like they're just getting started.
